New York, NY — Alvarez & Marsal, Inc., has launched Alvarez & Marsal Property Solutions (AMPS), a full service commercial real estate advisory firm. AMPS provides data-driven real estate services on a local, regional and national level to owners and occupiers of space. Industry veterans Matthew Krell, Daniel Bodner, Alvarez & Marsal, Inc., has launched Alvarez & Marsal Property Solutions (AMPS), a full service commercial real estate advisory firm. AMPS provides data-driven real estate services on a local, regional and national level to owners and occupiers of space. Industry veterans Matthew Krell, Daniel Bodner, Peter Kontos, AIA, J.T. Garofolo and Kevin Halm will be tasked with growing the firm’s various service lines, which include retail and office advisory, property management, project management and data analytics.

“Owners and occupiers require wholistic real estate services that prioritize long-term business strategies,” said Matthew Krell. “AMPS enters the marketplace as a new advisory that offers clients access to fully connected services lines, with the dedication and responsiveness of a close-knit team.”

AMPS specializes in delivering all-inclusive real estate services with equal emphasis on data, experience, market intelligence and local knowledge. For occupiers of space, this includes portfolio, market and location analysis, as well as site selection, project and transaction management, design and strategy. For landlords, the team offers site and project analysis, short-and long-term leasing, merchandising and branding strategies, as well as property management.

AMPS is an affiliate of Alvarez Marsal Property Investments (AMPI), a commercial real estate investment firm founded in 2013 by Victor Alvarez, Michael Marsal and Grant Schoenthaler. AMPS shares AMPI’s parent company and mission to advance integrity, responsiveness and long-term relationship building in the commercial real estate industry.

“As AMPI has grown, we’ve come across dedicated professionals who demonstrate new ways to utilize technology and lifestyle characteristics for commercial real estate strategy,” said Michael Marsal, Founding Partner and Vice President of AMPI. “We’ve sought to add the most talented of these professionals to our team and eventually launch affiliates that we believe can reshape the future of the industry.”

As part of every assignment, AMPS leverages industry-leading Geographic Information Systems (GIS) data and analytics to help tenants and landlords make more informed decisions. By incorporating demographic data and analytics into AMPS research, the team can look beyond the traditional four-wall analysis and tell a more complete story to support client assignments. This data-driven, proprietary analytical approach can help build solutions while reducing each client’s overall risk.

As Managing Director, Krell comes to AMPS with nearly two decades of client-first experience having executed real estate strategies on behalf of landlords and tenants across the United States. He has overseen portfolio management for brands such as Patagonia, Kendra Scott, Lush and El Cap, as well as advised renowned property owners, including Asana Real Estate Partners, Empire State Realty Trust, Nuveen and The Durst Organization. Prior to AMPS, Matthew was a Senior Managing Director at Newmark and prior to that held various roles at CBRE.

Senior Director Daniel A. Bodner has completed transactions across the United States on behalf of retailers and office users such as Bluestone Lane and Insomnia Cookies. Prior to his position at AMPS, Bodner was a partner at Retailworx, a portfolio company that incubated, invested and created retail brands in health, fitness and wellness. Earlier in his career he served as Director of Leasing at Kushner Companies, where he led the repositioning and leasing of the property owner’s DUMBO Heights campus; and before that Bodner was a real estate advisor at CBRE for seven years, highlighted by the repositioning of the Empire State Building.

Project management services at AMPS will be led by Peter Kontos, AIA, working closely with Senior Project Manager J.T. Garofalo. Kevin Halm will oversee AMPS’s property management services. The team offers owners and occupiers a suite of management services for any asset and stage of a project through pre-lease to planning to design and construction. AMPS has extensive experience in developing and coordinating project schedules, scopes, budgets and cost assumptions, as well as in overseeing extended teams of consultants, contractors and vendors. Flexibility and attention to detail is central to AMPS’s approach so projects are tailored to clients’ specific needs and direction, giving clients more time to focus on navigating and growing the success of their own business.

“The team assembled at AMPS has cultivated relationships with some of the world’s most respected brands and feature individuals known throughout the industry for advocacy, integrity and professionalism,” added Victor Alvarez, a Founding Partner of AMPI. “We are happy to see them represent our name moving forward.”
